The original idea for the VW Beetle, also known as the VW Bug, came from Adolf Hitler’s. It is said that he has the idea of ”people’s car” in 1924 while he was in prison road. He wanted a car that anyone can buy, and also to help with the problem of unemployment in Germany post WW1. In 1933 Hitler’s Nazi party in power and raised the issue of building special roads for car people, and in 1933 the government began a program of development “autobahns” for German drivers. “Volkswagen” (VW) is the German name for the car people.

Looking to buy a used Volkswagen Beetle? Not too long ago I was in search itself. Here’s a little bit about how I found a fun little car to me and what I do to find it.

My first step is to start looking for cars at Auto Trader which is a Canadian site because I’m in Canada. I believe the U.S. should have something similar that you can find if that’s where you live. I’m looking for Volkswagen, but at first I was not picky on whether I want to Jetta or Beetle. I also consider the Golf.

When I get out there to look around I really started to like the idea to have a Beetle. I remember the love bug Herbie, and I always wanted to own my Beetle when I grew up.
Timing Belt Issue:
Most of the car I went to see my girlfriend came up with. Now I do not know much about the car or haggling with the price of a good used car that he kept talking to me.

* Interior in good condition – Some cars are not in very good condition inside, this does not bode well like if someone does not care in which they may not take good care.

* Low miles – low miles means less wear and tear on the vehicle. Most cars in my price range around 150-200k.
* Who would believe – It’s scary buying a used car from a place you do not know. It’s hard to know whom to believe. the dealer I bought my car from did have a UCDA (Used Car Dealers Association) membership, so feel comfortable few. They also are in the business for 14 years and I get the feeling of ‘gut’ good about the person I bought the car from.
